Mangani: Executive | Seunghee Lee | Manhattan Chamber Players
05:35
Have you ever heard something so fresh and intriguing on the radio or social media that it immediately caught your attention? One of those moments for me was when I heard this piece called “Executive” written by Michele Mangani, an Italian composer currently living in Urbino, Italy. There was a time when I quit music altogether. I lost enthusiasm for playing the clarinet, feeling discouraged and unmotivated….I mean practicing the Nielsen, Françaix, Hindemith, Corigliano, etc etc is fine….but c’mon, realistically when am I ever going to play any of those works and with what orchestra?😂 But then, when I heard Michele Mangani's beautiful music on the Internet one day, I was immediately captivated! His lyrical style of music summarized my life’s journey like a movie and sparked a fresh perspective, new appreciation and creative energy for the instrument! “I want a play that!” was what I said and started to practice again! I got a buzz of motivation to play the clarinet and enjoy making music for myself!💜 Fast forward~ Here's a full video of the Mangani's "Executive" with wonderful musicians of the Manhattan Chamber Players, included in my new album, INTERMEZZO, which consists of highlights of Michele Mangani's music! 🙌🏻🌷 This album is dedicated to all listeners who have experienced a period of pause (an intermezzo) in their career for self-care or, especially women, to care for their children. This interlude, taken without guilt or shame, can be embraced as an opportunity for personal growth to come back stronger with more confidence. Can't wait to share with you all! 🥂🌟 Let's Go!💥 Releases date August 23, 2024 Seunghee Lee, Clarinet Manhattan Chamber Players Michele Mangani, Composer ►Producer & Editor: Seunghee Lee ►Sound Engineer: Bill Siegmund ►Mixing and Mastering Engineer: Bill Siegmund ►Location: DiMenna Center, New York City ►Recording date: December 2, 2021 ►Record Label: Musica Solis ► Listening Link: https://ffm.to/executive ►Publisher: https://www.edizionieufonia.it Connect with Seunghee Lee: ► Website: https://www.sunnyclarinet.com ► Facebook: / sunnyclarinet ► Instagram: / sunny_clarinet ►Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1mAiJ44C7FclKQ12EwWpeO ©℗ 2024 Seunghee Lee | Musica Solis® | All Rights Reserved #clarinet #clarinetist #klarinette #soloist #classical #classicalmusic #sunnyclarinet #michelemangani
Primavera: Seunghee Lee - JP Jofre - London Symphony Orchestra
04:16
From a GRAMMY® Nominated album, ASPIRE. Performed by clarinetist Seunghee Lee and composer-bandoneonist JP Jofre, with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Enrico Fagone. “Primavera”, which is the first single release from Ms. Lee's newest album Aspire, opens with a zesty ode to Spring. This lovely video shows the process of rehearsal, collaboration, and performance. Like his countryman Piazzolla, Jofre is a virtuoso player of the bandoneon, a signature instrument of tango. Lee shows her versatility and fluency with tango styles, supple rhythms and emotive inflections. One of the striking things about their partnership is how well the tone of Lee’s playing blends with that of Jofre, creating a warmly suave ambience. --- Program note by Christian Carey "The idea for this album "Aspire" was born out of my fascination with the reedy organ-like sound of the bandoneon and blending it with the versatile sound quality of the clarinet; two very diverse instruments and musicians from different backgrounds coming together to create incredible synergy through music..." Piazzolla - Tango Étude No. 3, Seunghee Lee, London Symphony Orchestra
03:29
From a GRAMMY® Nominated album ASPIRE. Official music video of Astor Piazzolla's Tango Étude No.3 for Clarinet and Orchestra (Arr. JP Jofre) commissioned and performed by clarinetist Seunghee Lee, recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Enrico Fagone. "Piazzolla's Tango Étude No. 3 arranged for clarinet and orchestra is the second single release from Ms. Lee's album Aspire. It is filled with florid, syncopated lines in successively more virtuosic passages that lead to a mid-piece cadenza. The return of the main tune is embellished and elevated by jazzy rhythms. This etude was originally written as a solo flute piece. Ms. Lee had long sought an accompaniment for its melody, and when she began to work with composer, JP Jofre....she commissioned the duo clarinet and piano version as well as one for clarinet and strings." --Excerpt from program note by Christian Carey "The idea for this album "Aspire" was born out of my fascination with the reedy organ-like sound of the bandoneon and blending it with the versatile sound quality of the clarinet; two very diverse instruments and musicians from different backgrounds coming together to create incredible synergy through music..." Villa-Lobos • Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 • Seunghee Lee • Arranged for Clarinet & Cellos
06:21
From the GRAMMY®-nominated album ASPIRE. Official music video of Villa-Lobos: Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5: I. Aria (Cantilena) performed by clarinetist Seunghee Lee with the cellists of the London Symphony Orchestra. 🕊At times, music can mirror our feelings and reflect complicated emotions that are difficult to put into words. This hauntingly powerful music by Villa-Lobos has been etched into my heart ever since I lost my father to tragic gun violence on the South Side of Chicago earlier in my youth. Over the years, while trying to make sense of it all, one of the ways to sooth a mountain of mixed emotions inside was through music, and this piece in particular often brought me comfort and solace. With everything that’s going on around the world, my hope is that this music offers some peace and self-healing to those grieving in silence. Immense gratitude to the incredible cellists of the London Symphony Orchestra and David Cohen for a truly moving performance. 🕊 -Seunghee Lee "Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 is perhaps Villa-Lobos’s most famous piece, arranged here by Seunghee Lee for clarinet solo and cellos. Lee plumbs the lyrical plangency of the piece with considerable eloquence. She leads the piece sans conductor, creating a chamber music atmosphere, with an ear towards balancing the various countermelodies to create a web of sound around the clarinet. The collaborative nature of the project extended to the string sections’ leaders, in particular principal cellist David Cohen, who contributed a glistening solo and stalwart guidance to his colleagues in the cello section." - an excerpt from the album program notes by Christian Carey ►Producer: Jonathan Allen ►Mixing and Mastering: Jonathan Allen ►Sound Engineer: Jonathan Stokes ►Location: LSO St.Lukes, Old Street, UK ►Video: Tall Wall Media, London ►Record Label: Musica Solis ► Buy CD on Amazon: http://bit.ly/42JriQa ► Streaming Links: https://found.ee/OvEQm ► More info about Seunghee's SOLACE project: https://www.seungheeclarinet.com/solace Connect with Seunghee Lee: ► Website: https://www.sunnyclarinet.com ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sunnyclarinet ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sunny_clarinet ► Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1mAiJ44C7FclKQ12EwWpeO Any unauthorized downloading, copying, screen-recording, or distribution of this video is strictly prohibited and may result in civil and criminal penalties.
